Sleepless one all-seeing,
sentry tireless, gentle,
hearing all and holding
horn of urgent warning,
listen as we laud you,
light one, fearless fighter,
wise of counsel, wisdom
willingly refilling.
Wait you, nail-bright warrior,
watching bridge-head matchless;
sea and earth and swine-blood
sacred went to make you.
Son of nine great sea-wives,
sire of three, untiring,
Rig, called White One, Ram’s Head,
raise I now your praises.
