Blood Black and Raven Red
by Eremon

Grey rain falls bitter from black clouds,
Bitter milk from the breast of the Mor Rioghain.
Milk that gives life and strength
To the disenfranchised and the outcast.
Breasts that suckle black cats,
Razor-clawed and desperate-eyed.
The eyes of war orphans and convicts’ widows,
Red milk, red as dawn, red as rage.
Dread Mor Rioghain, take me to your breast
Lend me this strength.
