ADF is an orthopraxic organization, which means that we focus on shared practice instead of shared beliefs. However, as part of our Dedicant Program, we ask members to explore and define nine virtues and the role they have (or don’t have) in their spiritual life. For the next few weeks, we will be sharing the ADF definition of each of these nine virtues. This week, we dive into Moderation . ADF defines Moderation as: Cultivating one’s appetites so that one is neither a slave to them nor driven to ill health (mental or physical), through excess or deficiency.

Earth Mother,
Spirits of Inspiration,
Ancestors, Nature Spirits, Shining Ones,
Let me walk the Watercourse Way,
That I go with the flow,
And that I be the flow:
Not too much,
Nor too little,
Let me find blessings in
Just enough.
Let this be my way.
So be it!
