Fear Me and Respect Me

I am he that comes each morn with Eos
I dance at evening with the Hesperides
I gave a present to brave Odysseus
To aid in his travel homeward
I am the son of Hellen and Orseis
And I have been both praised and cursed.

My presence is taken for granted
While my worth is yet unknown
I have been blessed by Zeus
Made steward of my own domain.
Sailors and farmers fear me
For I usher in storms and rain.

Fowl of the air respect me
For I aid in their daily quests
I can soothe and calm at will
Yet destroy at the gods behests
Clouds I maintain at Olympus
The seas I whip into foam.

Flames die without me
But too much kills them also
Respect me and fear me
Else your life I will obliterate
For my name is Aeolus
And I am the god of Wind.
